Hello there! And welcome to the Courses Buddy. Today, I introduce you to our new category. This is versus series and I compare the best sellers at Udemy in this category. So, the first article about React JS courses. Together, compare Grider’s vs. Schwarzmüller’s React course. Which one is better and should you buy? Modern React with Redux [2019 Update] or React – The Complete Guide (incl Hooks, React Router, Redux)?
There are two courses and two best sellers. Instructors are amazing, student feedbacks also good. If you make a choice between them, you can read Courses Buddy’s detailed comparison and might help you.
Candidates & Instructors
Let’s begin with instructors and candidates. In Udemy’s React JS category, Stephen Grider and Maximilian Schwarzmüller are the most popular instructors. Schwarzmüller has 29 courses, on the other hand, Grider has 22 courses and these are mostly bestsellers or highest rated.
Stephen is quite successful on Udemy React JS courses. He has more than one and each one includes the different concept. For example, Node with React: Fullstack Web Development about advanced concepts. And Maximilian has just two courses on this category. So, today we make compare two best seller courses of these instructors, not others.
Grider’s vs. Schwarzmüller’s React Course: Contents
Well, course contents are so important for the junior developers or beginners, because web technologies are growing so fast, and you need to catch the updates. And of course, if you don’t know anything about React JS, you want to buy a suitable guide or course.
Shortly, you can learn all the React JS features with both. There are minor differences between Grider’s vs. Schwarzmüller’s React course contents.
Practices & Exercises about React JS
So, let’s continue with practices and exercises in the courses. Both courses have practices and exercises, also coding challenges. In Stephen Grider’s Modern React with Redux Course, end of the almost every section, you practice what you’ve learned. But, some students complain about the lack of practice and exercises.
No doubt, Grider’s React JS course is one of the best, but it needs more practice sections and examples. Don’t get me wrong, almost every section has coding challenges, and during the course, you’ll build projects as well, but in my opinion: not enough.
On the other hand, Maximilian Schwarzmüller’s React – The Complete Guide (incl Hooks, React Router, Redux) course is quite successful about practices and exercises. Because, during the course, you can build a real-world React app with the instructor: The Burger Builder. Also, every section has mini quizzes and assignments.
I like this style. Just think: During the lessons, you learn a lot of things and start a basic project with basic knowledge. But after, you learn advanced concepts (for ex: Redux) and can add Redux features to your “basic” project. So, with this style, you can learn step by step React and of course, how to build a full stack web app easily.
Shortly, here is my winner about Grider’s vs. Schwarzmüller’s React course in practices and exercises side.
Student Feedbacks about the Courses
After the practices and exercises comparison, let’s take a look some student feedbacks too. Stephen Grider’s Modern React with Redux [2019 Update] is one of the highest rated courses in Udemy and no doubt, it deserved. In total, this course rating is 4.6 for now. I want to share some fresh feedbacks.
And of course, low ratings mostly about practices. Also some students complain about confusing things, blurred lessons, and more. But these are completely specific feedbacks and in my opinion, Grider’s React course curriculum is awesome.
Next is Maximilian Schwarzmüller’s React guide. This course rating is 4.7 for now and of course, has a lot of student feedbacks. Let’s begin with one of the my favorite.
This feedback is really something. And I guess it proves Maximilian’s success. Of course, there are bad feedbacks too.
Mostly like this. Probably, Maximilian’s teaching style doesn’t match with these students. But honestly, I watched and doesn’t feel like that.
Grider’s vs. Schwarzmüller’s React Course – Conclusion
As I said at the beginning, two bestsellers and whatever you choose, you’ll learn a lot of good things about React JS. But if I have to make a decision about Modern React with Redux [2019 Update] vs. React – The Complete Guide (incl Hooks, React Router, Redux), I choose Maximilian’s course.
Shortly, you can choose whatever you want. I can surely say, you’ll build amazing things just in 2-3 months.
